Legal fees for sale and purchase agreements and loan agreements are regulated by the Solicitors’ Remuneration Order 2023.

*subject to a minimum fee of RM500.00

Subsequent RM7,000,000.00

*subject to negotiation but not exceeding 1% of the excess.
Stamp Duty for Sale and Purchase Agreements / Transfers of Property

The stamp duty for sale and purchase agreements and loan agreements are determined by the Stamp Act 1949 and Finance Act 2018.The latest stamp duty scale will apply to loan agreements dated 1 January 2019 or later and to sale and purchase agreements and instruments of transfer dated 1 July or later.
Example 1 :
Property Value RM350,000.00
First RM100,000 x 1%
= RM1000.00
Next RM250,000 x 2%
= RM5000
Total RM1000 + RM5000
= RM6,000.00 Stamp Duty Value
Example 2 :
Property Value RM450,000.00
First RM100,000 x 1%
= RM1000.00
Next RM350,000 x 2%
= RM7000
Total RM1000 + RM7000
= RM8,000.00 Stamp Duty Value
Example 3 :
Property Value RM750,000.00
First RM100,000 x 1%
= RM1000.00
Next RM400,000 x 2%
= RM8000
Next RM250,000 x 3%
= RM7500.00
Total RM1000 + RM8000 + RM7500
= RM16,500.00 Stamp Duty Value
